What can you expect from your initial appointment?
Comprehensive assessment

During our initial consultation we will discuss your main health concern; when did it start, has it progressively worsened, are you taking any medication etc. From here I will ask you a series of questions relating to a specific SSx. As a CCM practitioner, identifying groups of symptoms allows me to identify patterns which I then associate to a specific classical formulas. Each main herb in a CCM formula aligns with specific indications and is reflected in the patient’s pattern/condition. In addition to obtaining a thorough understanding of your signs and symptoms, a pulse, tongue and abdominal examination are also undertaken, and together, the combination of these diagnostic tools facilitate an accurate diagnosis of a disease pattern differentiation. CCM dietary and lifestyle advice will also be provided, and a treatment plan will be discussed.

In addition to herbal medicine, acupuncture treatment may be administered. Particular acupuncture points are chosen to reflect the patient's disease pattern presentation. With correct understanding and application, acupuncture creates a specific action to restore the body to a normal functional state. My approach to acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping aligns with the same classical protocols that have been used and researched for hundreds of years, helping to maximise results.

Sports injury and musculoskeletal trauma

Treatment plan

I enjoy working with patients who are motivated and disciplined with achieving their goals. Depending on the severity of your condition, and with consistent treatment, clinical results vary between three to six months and for more significant, chronic and long term conditions can take longer to resolve. Herbal compliance and consistent acupuncture treatments as well as dietary and lifestyle changes are important factors to achieving your health goals. You will have regular appointments either in the clinic, by phone or by online consult and your treatment plan will be discussed during your initial consultation.

If you are seeing other health practitioners, I can liaise with them to ensure a coordinated approach to your health goals.
